The Maru tables are one of our most popular lines, whether it be in their coffee table, dining table or desk form.

The well aged wood is salvaged from the porches of century-old homes and farmhouses in the Korean countryside.

These 3" thick planks of Asian pine exhibit a beautiful character and smooth feel that only years of gentle use can produce. The legs are made from the porch supports, and feature the same expressive grain and patina.

Setting Up a Home Office

One of the most innovative work practices that emerged in the past decade, thanks to high-speed internet, was that people could work remotely from home. And with this arose an addition to most homeowners’ floor plans -- the home office.

If you’re one of those setting up this home workspace, it does not have to be big. It does not even have to be a totally separate room that’s closed off from the rest of the home. What is required though is a designated space to go to when one “goes to work”. Having this specific space with this intended purpose facilitates a certain amount of discipline to your work day routine.

And once you’ve got that space, you must go to town with it! Make the most out of your work area; make it creative and fun. This is one of the pleasures of working from home -- decorating as you like and picking out your own furniture. And Greentea’s Maru Desk is definitely something that is worthy of your home office. Sitting behind it is sure to give another dimension to the enjoyment of working from home. Sleek, professional, and with so much history embedded in its beautiful grain. Made from solid planks or reclaimed hardwood, it not only pleases with its looks, but gives you a sense of stability while you work. It grounds the space with its warmth, earthiness, and strength.

It’s time to break free from the typical office setup, with its modular mode, its dull office cubicles. You now have freedom to surround yourself with things that appeal to you, and cocoon yourself in an atmosphere of your own making.
