The Wide Maru Dining Tables are built from original slabs of century-old Korean flooring. These 3 inch thick boards of Asian Pine have proven themselves against over a century of use in traditional Korean homes.
The smooth feel and handsome patina of the surface comes about through gentle care and age. This age should also reassure you that the wood's reliability is beyond question.
Make sure to see the multiple images available and mouse over the image to see the zoom of the surface to appreciate all the different facets that make the Maru Tables one of our most popular pieces. If you need to fill a smaller space, the Narrow Maru Dining Table and the Square Maru are ideal alternatives.
The table top is made of traditional flooring which is coupled with the use of original supports as legs. This means that not a single tree is felled for the construction process. The design and construction of each piece is centered around our commitment to the environment.
Leg-height can be lengthened or shortened for a an extra charge. The length of the 5, 6, or 7ft. models can also be adjusted to your specifications for an extra charge.
Prices indicated for table only, chairs and other furniture sold separately.

No question people make a home, as do the memories that permeate a place. But furniture can play an important role too: living with pieces imbues them with history and for those that stand the test of time, heirloom pieces can tell the stories of generations.
The Maru Dining Table is one of Greentea Design’s iconic pieces, a client favourite, and it’s built to last. At once rustic and sophisticated, it harmonizes beautifully in modern and traditional design schemes alike. But the Maru is more than just beautiful furniture, each tells a story. In Korean “maru” translates as porch or floor and these tables are constructed from just that.
Century old Korean flooring is salvaged when traditional buildings are torn down or remodeled. This reclaimed flooring is transformed into these beautiful Maru tabletops. Each order of our Maru tables comes from a different historical salvage project in Korea, like one of our recent orders that are created from flooring from the Ewha Women’s University in Seoul that began offering courses in 1910. This means no two Maru tables are identical.
The Maru table will make an heirloom piece in the truest sense, not just because of the story they come with, but in the history they will continue to absorb through treasured family meals, as a hide and seek spot for the kids, grandkids and pets, and as a gathering place for those who make a house home.
