This traditional Japanese stacking chest would have been used to store futons and bedding during the day. The large gliding doors and spacious inner compartments with central shelves kept futons and blankets near at hand when it was time for bed.
A century later it is perfect for your linens and towels or even your TV and stereo components.
Like all tansu, the focus is on the warmth and beauty of the wood, in this case wonderfully strong yet light kiri wood. The hand forged iron hardware, traditional hirute shaped handles, floral zagane detail on the backplates, and a sliding lock pin on the doors complete the traditional clean-lined look.

All of our entertainment center cabinets are built with extended horizontal beams in solid woods, giving them a strong yet elegant presence that quickly transforms any room. The beams are continued on the sides of the cabinets, making each piece visually interesting from any angle.
Most of our entertainment centers feature pocket doors, so you can glide them out of sight while you’re watching the game or a movie. Close them when the TV is not in use, and the piece functions as a beautiful backdrop for your room.
All cabinets come with standard holes in the back for wires and cables. Custom shelving and carpentry is available for an extra fee.
