This rustic solid wood bench is just over four feet in length. With two benches currently available, they make the perfect companions for one of our signature five foot Maru Dining Tables.

A distressed black lacquer patina has developed over the years, revealing the complex wood grain beneath.

Constructed using joinery techniques which use no nails or glue, this sturdy bench is accented by carved flanging around the legs. It also compliments our Black Lacquer Officials Chairs.

But are they comfortable?

We are often asked how comfortable these solid wood chairs and benches are. While this is truly is a matter of preference, we are confident in saying that they are used by our staff every day and they get the "thumbs up". They are used around our dining table and our conference tables in our Toronto showroom.

Many of the chairs and benches feature a wicker inlay. Aside from being artistically interesting, wicker is a flexible material that increases the comfort of a chair by distributing the weight on the seat.

Another technique for increasing the comfort of a solid wood chair is to contour the seat. Some of our chairs, like the popular Shinto Bar Stools have an extra wide contoured seat for increased comfort.
