Black is Black

Neil Gaiman's Death character is a great costume option. Fan art by Caleverita on Deviantart.

Only one week until Halloween!

I thought I’d feature some interesting Halloween looks that come together with but the addition of black objects and elements. It’s quite simple and really hard to mess up.

A large-ish black furniture provides a solid anchor for your Halloween paraphernalia. This console table does that and looks very elegant to boot.

Black Tableware

The lamps in this image are gorgeous, but what I absolutely loved were the black vessels! That pot and that pitcher are adorable and sufficiently creepy.

Black Feather and Lace

Sometimes it’s the little details that captivate you. This black feather wreath is partly sexy, partly dreadful — and I love that about it!

If you’re feeling a little crafty, try your hand at this DIY project, give your glass candle holders a gothic look, with a the use of some black lace. It’s very Halloween, and very stylish and tasteful. Try covering other things with black lace, and you just might create something fabulous. Earlier this month Midori featured this awesome photo of a lace-covered pumpkin, which should inspire you in your black-lace experiments.

Pumpkin has never looked so exquisite.
